Transform Yourself with These 7 Steps & Be at Your ‘A’ Game! (Simple & Practical)

Self-transformation is not just about changing yourself. It means shifting yourself to a completely new dimension of experience and perception.

If you stop growing, you stop living.

As humans, we are meant to grow. This not only refers to your physical growth but also your mental growth, your personality growth. The day you stop growing or improving, you cease being a human. Your life becomes robotic. You will lack the motivation to do anything.

I mean, look at yourself. You are growth oriented. If you stopped learning, you would not be reading this article. But there are very few people like you in this world. Not many people think of transforming themselves to a higher self.

Because getting to your higher self involves serious work and commitment. I am on my way to transform most of my dreams to realities. It’s a constant journey.

Here are 7 Steps to Transform Yourself:

Transform Yourself – Step #1: Know What You Want

Don’t fear failure. Fear being in the exact same place next year as you are today.

Michael Hyatt

If you’d like to transform yourself, you must know where you would like to reach. Meaning you should know your goals.

Here is an exercise I would like you to do:

  • Grab a pen and notebook
  • Write down your Dreams
  • Write down your Goals associated with those dreams

Just keep on writing. It will get you clarity. This is what I did when I was clueless on where I was going or what I wanted. What came out of this exercise was 4 main goals in my life:

  1. Financial Goals
  2. Physical Goals
  3. Relationship Goals
  4. Spiritual Goals

(Read About Them here)

You know what your dreams are and what your goals are.

Transform Yourself – Step #2: Write Down How You Will Reach There

Nothing happens until the pain of remaining the same outweighs the pain of change.

Arthur Burt

Once I got clarity on my goals, I went into each of them deeply.

For example, for my Physical Fitness, I dug deep to arrive at the following physical fitness goals.

In the same way, I went deep into the rest of my goals. Day by day I see myself being transformed from what I was yesterday. Unless you put pen to paper and write down these goals, you will not be able to transform your self.

Writing down your goals and steps to get there has some magic. One this is you are involving another sense into the process which has great effects.

Transform Yourself – Step #3: Envision the End Result

Each tiny effort builds on the next, so that brick by brick, magnificent things can be created.

robin sharma

In his book, Start with Why author Simon Sinek explores the power of WHY! He mentions that people don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.

Great book and a must read.

While a WHY is important for a company, a personal WHY is as important. What is your purpose of doing what you do?

This is perhaps the toughest questions that I have ever faced! When you transform yourself, your end result will be your WHY.

For example, my WHY is to see my family always happy.

Yours may be a different one. Envision this now. What end result do you want with transforming yourself? This is easier said than done.

A way to find your purpose and envision your transformation is to meditate regularly and find your inner purpose. Meditating regularly provides you with great clarity on your life and purpose. It may take time, but you will surely get there.

Transform Yourself – Step #4: Learn from Others

You have to maintain a culture of transformation and stay true to your values.

Jeff Weiner

Chances are you have seen some successful people around. You may have come across a person whose life is ideal to you. If you are inspired by someone, you should let them know about it.

If you admire someone’s life, learn from their life story. If they are accessible, reach out to them. If not read a book about them, articles about them.

If you do know any of your friends doing well in life, ask them what is their secret. This is the way I learnt from my friends especially when it comes to financial investments. Although, I was good at reading certain financial literature, but I could not wrap my head around investments.

This helped me in understanding bitcoin early. This habit also helped me understand about stock market and do some key investments.

Another way is to watch YouTube channels and gain more information on what’s going around the world. I have learnt so much from YouTube! It’s actually a free resource for your growth. But make sure to subscribe only to positive channels. Do not see prank videos, news, celebrity gossips etc.

My favorite way to learn from others is to read books (Kindle Books)and listen to audiobooks. Blinkist is another great source for book summaries. Books are the cheapest way to get insight into great thinkers and achievers.

Transform Yourself – Step #5: Audit Your Growth

You can’t have a physical transformation until you have a spiritual transformation.

Cory Booker

Knowing your progress will not only keep you motivated, it will also keep you in check. I regularly keep track of my goals and habits.

It may be through writing in your notebook, an app and so on. Doing this will let you keep track of where you are currently and how long you have to reach your goals.

If you feel like this is a burden for you, get an accountability partner. You both are responsible for each other. This is a great way to keep track and keep each other motivated.

Transform Yourself – Step #6: Be Relentlessly Focussed

The great solution to all human problems is individual inner transformation.

Vernon Howard

Whatever the state of your day or your life, if you have to transform yourself, you will need a relentless focus on your goals. Be consistent too.

If you have a lofty enough goal you should actually be scared of it. Every day you wake up, write your goals daily. This way you know where you are at. Keep an end date. Have a figure in mind.

For my financial goal, I have a figure in mind and I write it on a daily basis and read it before going to bed. I sleep over it. I have stuck a picture of my dream home, my dream car in front of me. I look at it daily. This helps me keep focus on the stuff that is necessary.

Come whatever may, I am focussed on the end goal and to transform myself.

Transform Yourself – Step #7: Be Brutally Honest

Real transformation requires real honesty. If you want to move forward – get real with yourself.

Bryant McGill

If you are not honest to yourself, you won’t be honest to anyone else!

I learnt this the hard way.

Few years back, I had some lofty goals. But my actions were right opposite. I had a goal to get rich, but I squandered all my money. I had a goal to get six pack, but I hardly did any physical exercise.

You may have the biggest goals, but if your actions do not speak for themselves, you have achieved nothing. In order to transform yourself, you will need to be honest to yourself first and then to others. You will get stuck in life if you are not honest with yourself.

That’s why I changed my behavior to put pen to paper and have specific goals.

Transforming yourself doesn’t need to be a tough exercise. Look at your current situation and see the possibilities in your life. Don’t live in pessimism. Be courageous. You will find your way to a great transformation when you are true to yourself. Take action on your dreams, NOW.
