Cookie Policy
Last updated: [08-June-2026].
This Cookie Policy explains how NRI Money Map at deepak.co (the “Site”), a personal hobby blog run by Deepak Machado, uses cookies and similar technologies. Read it together with the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags. They let a site remember your choices, keep working, and measure how it is used. The aim here is to use as few as possible.
2. Your consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent, because the Site cannot work without them. For other cookies, where the law that applies to you requires it, for example in the EEA and the UK, your consent is asked for before they are set, and you can change or withdraw it at any time using [your cookie banner or settings link]. In regions where consent is not legally required, the legal basis in the Privacy Policy applies.
3. The categories of cookies used
Strictly necessary. Needed for core functions such as security and remembering your cookie choice. The Site will not work properly without these.
Functional. Remember preferences you set, such as light or dark reading mode. Helpful, but not essential.
Analytics and performance. Help show which pages and tools are useful, on an aggregated basis, so the Site can improve. If enabled, these may include a tool such as Google Analytics.
Third party and affiliate. Some pages link to or embed third party services, and the Resources page may contain affiliate links. Those third parties, and any sponsor or ad slot shown, may set their own cookies under their own policies, which I do not control.
4. The specific cookies on this Site
The list below is a starting point. Update it to match what the Site actually sets, then keep it current.
- [cookie name, for example wordpress_*]. Purpose: keep the Site secure and working. Type: strictly necessary. Lifespan: [session or duration].
- [theme preference key]. Purpose: remember your light or dark mode. Type: functional. Lifespan: [duration].
- [analytics cookie, for example _ga]. Purpose: aggregated usage measurement. Type: analytics. Set by: [Google or your tool]. Lifespan: [duration].
- [any affiliate or embed cookie]. Purpose: attribution or embedded content. Type: third party. Set by: [provider]. Lifespan: [duration].
5. Third party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties, including analytics providers, embedded content such as video or social posts, and affiliate networks. These are outside my control. Please review the relevant provider’s cookie and privacy notices.
6. How to manage or refuse cookies
You can control cookies in several ways. Use [your cookie banner or settings link] to change your choice on this Site. Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Site. For analytics, you can use provider opt out tools, such as the Google Analytics opt out browser add on where that tool is used.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. There is no common standard for Do Not Track, so it may not be acted on. Where the law requires a recognised opt out signal to be honoured, it will be treated as a valid request.
8. Changes to this Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the tools or practices change. The “Last updated” date shows the current version.
