My life quote:
Easy Choices, Hard Life. Hard Choices, Easy Life
it’s me ‘deepak.’
Well you may wonder….what makes me the person who talks about Productivity, Blogging and WordPress? After all I am no one!
i am passionate about learning new things and teaching what I have learnt. In the year 2012 I started blogging, nothing serious, just writing about random stuff. nothing happened. crickets. I was seeing these bloggers online who have had success and I was curious how they did it. But I did not know where to start. Then one day a friend (who was my co-founder at my first venture) sent me something interesting, a ‘list of schools in dubai’ to publish. I published it and it literally was on the top of google within a week. I sat there wondering what i had done right!
I had published something that people were actually looking for, online. From there on I started researching what actually people were looking for online. My first successful blog was born, emiratesdiary.com. Initially, I was covering random stuff on this blog and pivoted to job search and uae labour law. The kind of response I received was immense. I connected with so many people, so many wonderful people along the way. Emirates Diary grew to a subscriber base of 25 K+.
You see, I started blogging in the year 2012 to do one thing,
“Learn to design websites”.
And it turned pretty serious with me! Since I was also working full time, as a ‘by-product‘, I had to manage my time really well. This meant that paying full attention to my day job as well as giving enough time for my blogs. It taught me, how to manage time really really well, while being productive.
While I did learn a bit about ‘website design’, what I learnt more was the art of Blogging and WordPress. It creeps on you slowly…..while you learn so many new things, meet so many people, positively affect so many individuals……it’s worth it.
So, here I am, all smiles:
(Thanks to my friend Prem Pais for this picture.)
Since starting my first blog in late 2012, it has been quite a journey.
